Anyone planning to attend a party should designate a sober driver ahead of time. It’s also a good idea to keep the number for a local cab company handy or avoid alcohol altogether.
Party hosts can be prosecuted if someone who drank at their home ends up in an impaired driving crash. To avoid legal troubles, make sure guests designate their drivers in advance, or help arrange ride-sharing with other sober drivers. Don’t hesitate to take the keys away from anyone who is thinking of driving while impaired.
